Our Favorite February Date Night Idea

Close your eyes and imagine this, you are gliding gracefully across the ice, snowflakes falling gently, music playing in the background. The love of your life is holding your gloved hand and pulls you into a spin as the lights dim around you. Oh, wait a minute, that sounds way too much like the moment in a movie when the boy and girl fall in love!

Let’s settle back into reality. You and your spouse know the importance of date night and have a weekly sitter booked via the Sitter app! Yeah! You and the love of your life are well on your way to being rock star parents with those simple decisions. We know, the hard part comes once you have the sitter booked and you look at each other and say, “what are we going to do for date night?” You are both exhausted from the demands of parenting small people. Nevertheless, you want more than another “dinner and a movie” date night. Face it, you both fell asleep last week when you went to one of those movie theaters with the reclining seats.

Sitter friends, we have you covered – from booking your sitter to unique date night ideas!

Our February Date Night is inspired by the spirit of the Olympic Games. For every little girl who is now a grown woman that once fancied herself a figure skater, don’t give up on your dreams! Strap on your skates and find your local arena. This time of year there are so many options for ice skating. For our friends who are still blanketed in snow and ice for the month of February your ice skating options are endless. From the local Parks and Rec. Department neighborhood rink with the classic 1970’s warming shack to the local arena or even a frozen pond, you have your pick of places to twirl into your husband’s heart. If you live in a warm sunny location, (we envy you right now) don’t fear. Nearly every town has a local indoor arena with an ice surface all year long.

Unsure of your competency on the ice or just want a little extra encouragement? Contact your local arena for a list of instructors and have a date night ice skating lesson with a professional.

And, don’t forget the best part of ice skating date night – the hot cocoa and snuggles after!
